Sparkling Hill Resort & Silverstar Helicopter Wedding

What a fun, wild ride of a day! Robyn and Lou chose a unique combo of having their ceremony on a mountaintop at Silverstar Mountain Resort and then their reception at the stunning Sparkling Hill Resort in the Gernot’s room (my fave!). After everyone got ready, my second shooter, Katie Nugent, and I split up – her, going with the groom and guests, and me, staying with the bride to wait for the helicopter to pick us up for the ceremony. So fun! The fog on the mountain had a personality of its own and rolled in, creating a super cool atmosphere for their ceremony, and then rolled out about 20 minutes after. haha. Classic. The day was full of surprises and delays, including only having an hour in the end to do family photos and wedding party photos but I was so impressed with how Robyn and Lou totally just ran with it. Everything worked out fantastic in the end and those surprises only made the day more of a memorable adventure. Robyn and Lou were so fun to work with and feel like new friends. Robyn gave Katie and I the most thoughtful gifts on her wedding day. Always thinking of others – so sweet. Speaking of Katie Nugent, a huge shout out and thanks to her for her wonderful work!

Cute dad moment (and socks). Now we switch to Katie’s perspective, at Silverstar Resort with Lou and the guests! Back to Sparkling Hill! Time for our helicopter ride! A few shots below by Katie, capturing us attempting to land in the fog. It wasn’t safe for the helicopter to land in the fog so off to Plan B! We landed lower and the Silverstar staff was amazing and speedy grabbing a truck to take us up. The temperature dropped when the fog rolled in and the feet of one of the bridesmaid’s got super cold, so her Dad gave her his shoes. : ) These groomsmen were hilarious and could not keep it together. Loved their “Sears Portrait” idea, bottom left. Hehe. I yelled out “Kiss!” but I guess I forgot to specify who. haha. So funny.
