Summerhill Winery Wedding, Kelowna, BC

When I first met Emily and Wes it was for their engagement session and they mentioned they might be awkward in the photos… they then proceeded to be so natural, connected and amazing to photograph! Not to mention they have a great sense of humour and are awesome people. Wes and Emily chose the beautiful Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna, BC. I love that Summerhill Pyramid Winery lets nature be nature on the property. It’s beautifully groomed in all the right places but there is still plenty of nature that is allowed to be itself which is wonderful for photos.
Wes has Filipino heritage and Emily has Chinese heritage so it was really cool seeing the different traditions of the two cultures weaving together throughout the day. It was my first time seeing a Chinese Tea Ceremony and I loved the beautiful red attire that Emily and Wes wore for that. Emily had 3 dresses that she wore throughout the day and that was such a neat element! I was grateful to the wonderful Katie Nugent for her talent, second-shooting and assisting for me. All the other vendors did such a fantastic job as well! So much creativity and amazing skills. They all put so much heart and care into what they do and it’s wonderful working alongside them.
It was such a fantastic day and I’m so happy for Emily and Wes!
